What is a Bodywork Massage?

The word bodywork refers to any treatment or therapy that includes different body parts to help alleviate a variety of ailments. Usually, bodywork massages are used to help adjust or realign different body parts to improve their functionality. Additionally, these massages help patients feel relaxed and comfortable. There are different types of bodywork techniques people can choose depending on their particular needs. Here are some of the most common types of bodywork techniques:

Bodywork Massages

Bodywork massages are sought after by people suffering from different types of pain, especially in the lumbar area. This type of massage is not limited to a specific muscle or group of muscles. Your therapist can provide you with a healing bodywork massage which will make you feel great.

Acupressure is an alternative method for alleviating different symptoms such as stress and anxiety. This technique works closely with energy points spread within the body called “meridians.” These meridians are stimulated by applying pressure by hand or elbow, although certain devices may be used. This method’s primary focus is alleviating symptoms such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other types of discomfort. By relieving these and other symptoms, the patient may feel more energized and relaxed.

Deep Tissue Massages

Deep tissue massages – as the name implies – are meant to help alleviate pain happening deep within muscle tissue. These types of massages help prevent blockages, promote better circulation, and improve a patient’s overall well-being. Deep tissue massages are not associated with side effects other than some mild bruising and discomfort. Remember, these massages penetrate deep into the muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia. Therefore, these side effects are usual after this type of treatment.

Pre-Natal Massage

Pre-natal massages or pre-natal body therapy is another method of relaxation used by women during their gestation period. By applying different non-invasive massaging techniques, women can experience a tremendous amount of relief, especially during their final trimester. Pre-natal massages promote better circulation, stress relief, and pain alleviation, especially in the area of the lower back.

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese technique used to help treat certain conditions and ailments. This popular treatment uses needles as the primary tool and is widely used to help manage anxiety, reduce stress, and promote relaxation.

Why You Should Get a Bodywork Massage at Our Denver Spa

You may wonder whether a bodywork massage is appropriate for you. There are many different types of massages available to everyone. So, how can you make sure a bodywork massage is what you need, and what benefits can you get out of it?

Bodywork massages can offer many health benefits. For instance, massages are known for promoting better circulation.  This can be done by applying different massage techniques that reduce tension, allowing the blood to flow to the vital organs more efficiently. Additionally, bodywork massages can help relieve the pain and stiffness caused by stress, anxiety, or traumatic events such as a car accident or sudden fall.

A full-body massage can help relax overused or tired muscles. Furthermore, it can help alleviate migraines and other symptoms associated with stress. Many people claim body massages are an excellent way to fight symptoms associated with depression. As of today, there is no definitive proof to support this theory; however, it is known that bodywork massages promote the release of endorphins, which helps patients feel relaxed and improves their mood. This may be one of the reasons why many people rely on body massages for relief from stress, anxiety, and pain.

It is worth mentioning that bodywork massages are not intended to prevent or cure any illness. You should make sure to consult with your primary care physician before implementing a bodywork massage as part of your regular treatment regimen.
